We have interviewed Mattar Bin Lahej because he’s a successful and talented entrepreneur, he’s an Emirate Artist, sculptor, photographer, and Gallerist. in addition to that his Gallery is considered the first of its kind in the UAE. Mattar Bin Lahej is characterized by links to his own environment in which he grew up, formed his spirit from which he derived most of his works and raised all the techniques and outputs we see today. Mattar believes in the talent he has and he is following an ongoing curriculum of self-improvement. Bin Lahej is a champion of The National’s Gallery.

 Firstly, we have contact our entrepreneur Mattar Bin Lahej to meet him in his Gallery to video recording for the interview. We have chosen the perfect place to shoot the video because this place shows his talented work. Later, we review the 25 questions with him to get the approval that he can answer all the questions. We distribution the questions between the group members and later we start shooting him with Noura. Noura asked him 9 questions about his background and how did he start his business. I think Mattar is a person who has a good capture for society because he does work for the government and he has his own business.

Mattar likes to work a lot even during the weekend because he says that it’s hard to be professional and have the balance between family and work, but he can do it.

 Secondly, we start shooting Mattar with Reem and he was talking about his painting and sculptor work and his future goals. So, we used to shoot a video some of his work in the Gallery.

Thirdly, we start shooting with Qamar about his entrepreneur life and what difficulty’s he faced with his private life. Also, what changes he’s planning too. I liked that Mattar is a person who has the ability to manage his schedule timing for job, hobbies, and family.

The reason why we chose this specific place because we can shoot from different angles, the lighting was perfect, and his work was shown from his side and the background. We really like how he did design his gallery simply, classic and elegant. When we finished our interview, we take around in the Gallery to see his work the sculptor and the drawings which were painted by him to shoot them in a different angle to choose the perfect one for the final video. He has a coffee in his gallery and the name of the coffee is Sketch Cafe. His concept of opening a coffee in corner inside his gallery is to show the visitors his talented work and conveying the public to a space with works of art spreading in his gallery What makes his Cafe unique that he been carved things what he used it in the cafe, for example, the machine coffee, menu and the tables are all been carved with Arabic letters and words. Also, he used the plates to draw on it to give a unique look than other coffees. He consolidates our old culture of the art pieces with modern such as sculptures which are displayed in the gallery, are also models of a huge series of artist Mattar's productions based on the concept of sustainability, continuity, and consolidation of using the Arabic character.

The reason why Mattar Bin Lahej did use the Arabic Language because he says that it’s Quran language and he wants to do something different using the six chapters which will cover various are in the sculptures such as Quran commentary, tajweed (rules of pronunciation) and reasons for the Quran revelation.

The secret of the sculptures is to present the work in some words that it requires research by experts in the field to reveal the truth behind it. He had some of his work for sale as an example of notebooks, bags, mugs, and posters all painted by him. He named his coffee Sketch cafe which is related to the First step of drawing (sketch). He told us that he doesn’t have a plan for any artwork, he has innovation artwork on a specific production, he uses his imagination more than fast sketches, he uses fixed sketches then he transfers his sketch to final work. He uses What is interesting about his Gallery that he likes to work and draw in his office which is in his Gallery. In addition to that, when he finishes any drawing or carved of his work, directly he displays it in his Gallery. What we like about Mattar that he exploits his Cafe by showing his work. What Mattar was focusing in the interview that everyone should be patient in his work and to achieve his goals and never give up even if u fail you must not stop trying, even if you achieve your goal you should aspiring to higher improvement to do an artistic work to extend the Gallery from Dubai to Worldwide. Mattar takes 13 years to show the profit and achieves his goal by opening his own gallery. He chooses to be an entrepreneur because he found his self in some way and he chooses the way that its fit him so he can improve on it, also he mentioned that he motivates himself by challenging and to find himself in many things, by seeing himself professional not just like any talented person. Mattar’s mentioned that he knows how to improve himself throw his talent and his talent who improve him, he says that spending his time in work because he is a professional artist and he will not change anything in his business. Bin Lahej never change his goals he just goes through it. We learned that if we want to develop our business we should start from the strong base then try to develop it bigger to be professional and before all of this we need to be patient, also we can use our imagination to create or to innovate. He said that he doesn’t plan for artist work he has innovation art on specific production to design what is in his imagination. He has reached his goal more than he dreamed for and more than anyone can. Mattar work in different things like drawing, designing, presentations, and speeches. Also, we learned that If we have an innovative work we should start working on it and the community must support us, we should not put a limit on the working hours or to create and develop our work, if we achieve our goals we aspire to the top. Mattar has talent that he knows how to mix and use specific colors for painting, He follows the conventional approach to painting, exploring layers of colors, and establishing a visual balance with the aid of his tools because not every artist knows how to mix and use colors.

What we really liked about this interview that we meet a person who talked about his life experience in working and having own business. He gave us some information about business and what is being a successful entrepreneur. Also, he teaches us that person should not only focus on his job only, he should do something in his life, like to open his own business to get a second income not only the monthly salary which he gets from the place he works in. Every person should manage their time by doing schedule and planning. It’s nice when a person relies on himself nowadays. We really learned and benefited how to start a business because each member in the group has a goal to have their own business, but we were not that much know how to start it. We really learned from Mattar after this interview how to start a business with some steps that how we can manage the study and business and how we can get a second income without any assistant.
